Strategies, best practices will be the focus as about 500 HR professionals gather
Alexandria, VA – ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 1, 2016 — The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) 2016 Diversity & Inclusion Conference & Exposition will provide participants with best practices and tools for creating and implementing diversity and inclusion strategies in the workplace.
HR experts and business leaders will present information at more than 30 sessions during the three-day event. More than 500 participants are expected to attend.

Among the conference's two dozen concurrent session presentations:
• "Managing D&I: Religion and LGBTQ Issues in the Workplace"—Tuesday, Oct. 25, 10:45 a.m.
• "Who's Going to Sit in Your Seat? Advancing Women and Minorities in Your Workplace"—Wednesday, Oct. 26, 3:15 p.m.
• "Political Correctness in the Workplace"—Thursday, Oct. 27, 8 a.m.
• "Male Millennials: Allies or Obstacles in Gender Equality?"—Thursday, Oct. 27, 9:30 a.m.
Bettina Deynes, SHRM's vice president of HR and diversity, will give a State of Diversity presentation during the Opening General Session Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 9:30 a.m. focusing on the role of senior management and the importance of an organization's mission statement in advancing success in diversity and inclusion.
Also, during six Diversity Leaders Exchange sessions throughout the conference, participants will have the opportunity to engage with chief diversity officers and senior HR practitioners, including Francisco Estrada, senior director, recruitment and diversity, Major League Soccer and Soccer United Marketing; and Caroline Wanga, vice president, diversity and inclusion, Target.
