ALEXANDRIA, Va., — The Society for Human Resource Management
(SHRM) Foundation was recognized by the National Academy of Human Resources
(NAHR) as the 2014 NAHR Honored Organization for its lasting contributions to the human resources field.
“On occasion, NAHR recognizes organizations and institutions that have played a substantial role in shaping human resource management thinking and policy,” said Kathleen S. Barclay, chair of NAHR and senior vice president of human resources at The Kroger Co. “We are delighted to include the SHRM Foundation in this distinguished group.”
NAHR presented the award at its annual ceremony Nov. 6 in New York City. James Schultz, chair of the SHRM Foundation Board of Directors, accepted the award on behalf of the SHRM Foundation, a leading funder of HR research, scholarships and educational resources.
“Being named the 2014 NAHR Honored Organization is a significant achievement in the HR profession,” said Schultz. “The SHRM Foundation is honored to be recognized through this prestigious award for our role as a catalyst in shaping human resource thought leadership.”
Only 12 organizations have been recognized as Honored Organizations by NAHR since its founding in 1992.
