ALEXANDRIA, Va.— The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) was awarded the 2014 Business-to-Business Website of the Year award for its website,
SHRM Online, by the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE).
Additionally, SHRM received a Gold Award for onsite trade show coverage for its
SHRM Conference Daily newspaper produced during the
SHRM Annual Conference & Exposition, and SHRM’s
HR Magazine was named one of the top 10 business-to-business magazines in the over $3 million annual revenue division.
The award winners were recognized during a dinner banquet at the ASBPE National Conference July 25-26 in Chicago.
Every year, ASBPE honors business-to-business, trade, association and professional publications through its
Azbee Awards of Excellence, a competitive program that examines the work of magazines and websites nationwide.
Beth Mirza, manager of online news content at SHRM, accepted the award on behalf of SHRM. “Receiving the Website of the Year award is a significant honor for SHRM Online—one that everyone at SHRM takes pride in, as we all contribute to the site,” said Mirza.
A panel of judges evaluated the websites based on reporting, writing, editing, depth of information, organization and navigability. For magazines, judges examined three consecutive issues for writing, reporting, editing, usefulness, interactivity, editorial organization, layout and design.
According to a summary of the judges’ comments, “The finalists stood out from the competition with their strong writing, understanding of their target audiences, and intriguing design.”
