Alexandria, Va. – The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has appointed Stephen C. Horn as its new chief global marketing officer. The society is the leading voice of the human resource profession, representing the interests of more than 245,000 professional and student members from around the world.
“Stephen Horn’s leadership skills, coupled with his extensive background in international marketing management, make him the ideal choice to head this division,” said SHRM President and CEO Susan R. Meisinger, SPHR. “He will help us open up new opportunities for growth.”
Horn will be responsible for the development and execution of world-class marketing strategies, plans and initiatives for international implementation.
“I’m honored to play a leadership role in SHRM’s global marketing strategies and efforts,” said Horn. “I embrace the challenges and innovative opportunities this new position brings, particularly now as SHRM marks its 60th anniversary.”
Prior to joining SHRM, Horn held senior global and domestic marketing positions in both Fortune 500 and start-up companies. He served as the corporate chief marketing officer for Coca-Cola Enterprises, where he was responsible for marketing plan development, strategic planning and customer relationship management. He also managed domestic and international marketing for PepsiCo, the parent company of Pepsi Cola, and while there led a joint venture with Starbucks.
Horn’s experience also includes having been vice president of emerging markets for Citibank Global Consumer Banking. Most recently, he served as the CMO and head of international business development for a newly public company, Worldspace Satellite Radio.
Horn holds an MBA from Indiana University and a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Illinois.
