NEW DELHI, India, May 13, 2013 — The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management, has appointed Achal Khanna as CEO for its operations in India.
Khanna has served as interim CEO since January. She joined SHRM India in May 2011 as chief operating officer.
“I am pleased to announce the selection of Achal Khanna as CEO of SHRM India,” said Henry G. “Hank” Jackson, president and CEO of SHRM. “In her interim capacity, she has proven to be a capable leader with a vision for SHRM in India. She brings to the CEO position a strong commitment to the HR community.”
Khanna has more than three decades of experience in senior managerial positions with global companies such as DuPont, Polaroid, General Electric and Kelly Services. She has been the recipient of a number of honors, including being named the Best Woman Executive in India by the International Management Institute of India. She holds an MBA from AIMA, New Delhi, a master’s degree in English literature and an undergraduate degree in economics from Meerut University.
As CEO, Khanna will serve on the global SHRM Leadership Team.
