SHRM Names Winners of Student Case Solving Competition
Alexandria, Va. – Five collegiate teams were named winners of SHRM’s first-ever Regional Case Solving Competition, which was held in the spring as part of Regional Student Conferences.
Each team of three to six people was given a case to review and solve, ranging from issues of employee privacy to family medical leave. They had four hours to prepare written and oral presentations, after which they were given 15 minutes to conduct an oral presentation to a panel of judges. Written presentations were reviewed by a separate panel of judges. The top two teams presented again at the end of the competition to determine an overall winner.
Regional champions and runners-up were:
First place: Purdue University. Second place: University of South Dakota
