Wayne Cascio Elected Chairman of the U.S. Technical Advisory Group for Global Human Resources Standards
Alexandria, Va. — A group of human resource professionals, academics and consultants recently elected Wayne F. Cascio to atwo-year term as the chairman of the U.S. Technical Advisory Group to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Technical Committee for Human Resource Management.
The U.S. Technical Advisory Group (TAG) will assess and advocate for human resource management standards for the ISO Technical Committee for Human Resource Management. The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the administrator of the group.
“The election of Dr. Cascio to chair of this group is a milestone for the development of global standards for HR management,” said Lee Webster, director of HR standards at SHRM. “The organizations that comprise the TAG membership clearly see that his knowledge of international HR subjects, academic scholarship, and peer leadership experience is crucial in these developmental stages of global standards. We feel fortunate to have Dr. Cascio onboard.”
In his role as the group’s chairman, Cascio’s responsibilities will include:
Cascio is a senior editor of the Journal of World Business and the Robert H. Reynolds Chair in Global Leadership at the University of Colorado, Denver. Previously, he served as the president of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (1992-1993), chair of the SHRM Foundation (2007), and as a member of the Academy of Management’s Board of Governors (2003-2006).
Cascio has received the Distinguished Career award from the HR division of the Academy of Management, the Michael R. Losey Human Resources Research Award from SHRM, and an honorary doctorate degree from the University of Geneva (Switzerland) in 2004. In 2008, the Journal of Management named him one of the most influential scholars in management in the past 25 years.
He is the author or editor of numerous books including, includingInvesting in People and Managing Human Resources.
