Certification Scholarships 



SHRM Foundation Certification Scholarships-deadlines: April 10 and October 10, 2017 
More than 200 scholarships will be awarded to members pursuing SHRM certification. In addition, SHRM professional chapters and state councils are eligible to compete for the certification scholarship to fund programs that promote SHRM certification.  

Conference & Seminar Scholarships 



SHRM Talent Management Conference & Exposition- deadline: January 30, 2017
These awards will enable three HR professionals to attend this exciting event. 

SHRM Annual Conference & Exposition-deadline: March 15, 2017 
These awards will enable eight HR professionals who have been unable to experience this conference--due to a lack of financial support-- to have the opportunity to attend. 

SHRM Seminars-deadline: April 10, 2017
Twenty scholarships will be awarded to SHRM members to attend SHRM seminars, 10 for virtual events and 10 for live, in-person seminars. 

SHRM Diversity and Inclusion Conference-deadline: July 10, 2017
Three scholarships will be awarded to SHRM members to attend this premier conference. 

Academic Scholarships



New! SHRM Foundation Give50 Academic Scholarship-deadline: April 10, 2017
This special $10,000 award was created in honor of the SHRM Foundation's 50th anniversary. Both student and professional members are eligible to apply by submitting a 2-3 minute video explaining how they have overcome a personal or professional obstacle.

SHRM Foundation Undergraduate Scholarshipsdeadline: October 10, 2017
Scholarships are awarded annually to SHRM members, both student and professional, pursuing undergraduate degrees in HR-related fields. A total of 21 scholarships will be awarded. 

SHRM Foundation Graduate Scholarships- deadline: October 10, 2017
Scholarships are awarded annually to SHRM members, both student and professional, pursuing masters or doctorate degrees in HR-related fields. A total of 22 scholarships will be awarded.  

Tax Treatment of Award Funds- visit the IRS site for additional information on tax status of award funds.

Susan R. Meisinger Fellowship for Graduate Study in HR - deadline: August 15, 2017
To be eligible to apply, an HR professional must be a first-time master's student seeking a degree in HR and must meet at least one of the following criteria: 1) be a member of SHRM or 2) hold a professional HR certification.

SHRM Foundation Dissertation Grants-deadline: May 1, 2017
Awarded in partnership with the HR Division of the Academy of Management, these dissertation grants are given to four promising researchers in the HR field at the dissertation stage of their doctoral education.

Other Awards



Student Chapter Advisor of the Year Award-deadline: March 15
This award recognizes the outstanding service of SHRM student chapter advisors. Student members may nominate their advisor for recognition. 

HRM Impact Awards- deadline: April 30, 2017
Organizations with successful, evidence-based HR management practices are invited to submit applications for the HRM Impact Award. Winners will be selected based on their HR practices and initiatives that have been measured and deemed successful through evidence-based, data-driven analyses. They will receive a plaque and media exposure highlighting their winning practices or initiatives.

Michael R. Losey Research Award-deadline: July 15, 2017
This premier $50,000 award honors lifetime achievement in human resource research.
