Meet Our People

Here are just some of the people who "Work It" here at SHRM.

Director, Foundation Programs

"I started in an entry-level position with SHRM in 1992. I was recently promoted to director and now oversee all of the SHRM Foundation’s programs. There is always something new to learn. It’s interesting to keep up with the changing workplace laws and trends, and how they affect our members. I really enjoy the positive culture at SHRM and the terrific people I get to work with."

Manager, Web Development

"I lead a team of software developers in multiple locations around the world. Having worked for Fortune 500 organizations before joining SHRM, I can safely say that the scope of technology and IT projects within SHRM definitely compares with any large organizations."

Manager, Internal Communications

"I’m responsible for creating and managing employee and member communications that support the goals and objectives of the Society. I lead the effort to deliver effective communications content that helps to build and reinforce a strong organizational culture, enable operational and strategic delivery, and build employee morale. Outside of work, I enjoy songwriting, rooting for the Washington Redskins and engaging in pop culture debates."

Manager, User Experience & Design

"I support SHRM’s technology for Web and interactive media. What I like most about SHRM is the culture, the variety of work projects and the opportunity to learn the latest technology."

Manager, HR Thought Leadership

"I started as an intern with SHRM while obtaining my master’s at George Mason in I/O Psychology. My first job was with a consulting company, but I stayed in touch with my former colleagues and learned that SHRM would soon open a position creating and validating competency models. I’m currently working on validation and refinement of a competency model for the HR profession."

Marketing Specialist

"I really enjoy the variety of responsibilities that come with my job. SHRM is large enough that we work with great creative designers, yet small enough that I have the chance to implement my own ideas in marketing materials."

Manager, Online News Content

"I started as associate editor for HR News, and now I’m managing a team of seven reporters and editors for our daily news service. This job gives me an opportunity to do work I love, writing and editing for the HR industry."

HR Knowledge Advisor

"The HR Knowledge Center supports members at all levels, from a one-person shop to a global organization. We help our members achieve their objectives and meet the challenges of supporting a global marketplace."

"My journey with SHRM began with an internship in the Survey Research Department. Not only was it a great opportunity to expand my skill set and develop my career path, but it also provided insight as to what aspects I personally value in a work environment and employer."
