With a focus on making business connections and advancing the development of HR professionals, SHRM wants to provide the opportunity through visits and meetings with representatives of leading Indian and multinational organizations, as well as with other HR professionals, to have an informative, educational and rewarding experience while attending our programs.
SHRM is bringing a delegation of HR executives to India from September 28 - October 06, 2016. The delegation will have participants coming from various countries, and they will attend the SHRM India Annual Conference, visit very well-known companies in India, and explore cultural sites in Delhi and Agra, including the Taj Mahal.
India, a growing economyWith 1.2 billion people and one of the world’s largest economies, India has experienced significant growth and development in recent years. The country has brought about an agricultural revolution that has transformed the nation from chronic dependence on grain imports into a global agricultural powerhouse that is now a net exporter of food. India is now home to globally recognized companies across industries and a growing voice on the international stage that is more in keeping with its enormous size and potential.
India will soon have the largest and youngest workforce the world has ever seen. At the same time, the country is in the midst of a massive wave of urbanization as some 10 million people move to towns and cities each year in search of jobs and opportunities. Massive investments are being made to create the jobs, housing and infrastructure needed to meet soaring aspirations, making towns and cities more livable and green. India therefore offers a huge window of opportunity for global and domestic companies.
