The SHRM Foundation is developing resources and tools to help HR professionals hire and retain military veterans.
We invite you to join us for three events: a kick-off brunch, a day-long veteran event to learn best practices, and a 24-hour Step Challenge.
Members may download one copy of our sample forms and templates for your personal use within your organization. Please note that all such forms and policies should be reviewed by your legal counsel for compliance with applicable law, and should be modified to suit your organization’s culture, industry, and practices. Inclusive organizations, led by empowered HR professionals, are where employees can thrive and organizations achieve success. To advance this work, the SHRM Foundation partners with companies and organizations through sponsorship.
Current Initiative: Integrating & Engaging Military Veterans
This initiative was launched in 2017 and focuses efforts on building awareness of the value veterans bring to the workforce while increasing the skills and abilities of HR professionals to attract, hire and retain veterans in their workforce.

In 2019, the SHRM Foundation will host three special events to engage HR professionals during SHRM conferences.
Fourth annual Step Challenge at #SHRM19The Step Challenge is a three-day activity that invites the 17,000+ attendees at SHRM Annual Conference & Exposition to set physical goals, track their process and celebrate their successes.
SHRM Foundation Annual LuncheonThis celebration recognizes the work accomplished, honors top supporters and energizes attendees to support our mission and upcoming work. Luncheon attendees include SHRM and SHRM Foundation board members, top Leadership Circle donors and volunteer leaders from SHRM state councils and chapters.
Headshot Studio at the SHRM Volunteer Leaders SummitAnnually, 1,000 SHRM chapter and state council volunteer leaders gather at the SHRM Volunteer Leaders Summit to network, collaborate and attend development sessions to strength their chapters and state councils. During the summit, volunteers are invited to sit for a professional headshot. As a headshot studio sponsor your company will host the lounge and connect with volunteer leaders during this positive, much-appreciated experience.
Sponsored scholarships are fully managed by the SHRM Foundation - from promoting your scholarship, collecting applications, judging, and selection, to awarding of scholarship funds. As a sponsor, we will connect you with your annual scholarship winner and showcase your dedication to the future of HR by sponsoring a scholarship to support an HR student or professional.
