Scholarship: $750 for SHRM Chapter or State Council programs to promote SHRM Certification (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP)

Number: up to 220 scholarships (total for individuals, chapters and states)
Deadlines: April 10 and October 10, 2017

Eligibility 

  • SHRM Chapter or State Council in good standing.
  • Was designated a SHRM Foundation Chapter or State Council Champion in the previous calendar year.
  • Conducting or planning to conduct a SHRM certification preparation program or other effort to promote SHRM certification. (Note: using award funds to directly fund chapter or state certification scholarships is prohibited.)
  • Person completing application must be a SHRM member.

Complete online application including:

  • Contact information
  • Description of actual or planned certification program
  • Description of actual or planned results
  • Program budget and funding
  • List of chapter/state awards or honors received

Selection Criteria

  • 50% Plan for use of funds: program depth, reach and impact
  • 30% Financial need
  • 20% Matching funds available

Additional Information 
By accepting a scholarship, you are consenting to allow the SHRM Foundation (and the award's sponsor, if any) to use without limitation, and in any media, your name, city, state, photos and captions (if uploaded), and verbiage for marketing and promotional purposes.  Each scholarship is a one-time award, however previous applicants and past scholarship recipients are eligible to re-apply. Certification scholarships are awarded twice annually. Applications are reviewed and scored by groups of SHRM volunteers in each SHRM region and are reviewed by staff. All decisions are final.
