Kirsten Benzaquen, 27, is the epitome of an HR professional who gives back—to her profession, her community and her alma mater.
In the five-plus years since she earned her HR degree from William Peace University in Raleigh, N.C., Benzaquen has advanced her career through HR jobs in the biotech, engineering and pharmaceutical industries. She has been involved with training and development, total rewards and now corporate recruiting. In her current role as the talent acquisition specialist for TrialCard Inc. in Morrisville, N.C.,she works to attract operations and IT professionals to pharmaceutical solutions provider. Through it all, she has found opportunities to volunteer her expertise and organizational skills to a wide range of local organizational entities.
First and foremost is the Raleigh-Wake HR Management Association chapter of SHRM, where Benzaquen is program coordinator and president of the Young Professionals Advisory Council; she’s also a member of SHRM’s national council. She serves as president of her alma mater’s Young Alumni Council and as a voting member of the school’s board. And during her remaining time spent outside the office, she’s working toward a master’s degree in HR development. Add in her work with several local charity organizations, and it becomes clear that Benzaquen invests the bulk of each day in the service of others.
