Each January, the SHRMStore reflects back on the previous year and reviews its top-sellers. These books, DVDs, and software and Web-based products reveal what areas of human capital management the HR industry is focused on. Every year, the list features products in just about every category of HR, including compliance, employee relations, recruitment, strategy, harassment training and process improvement. We look at the eight top-selling products overall, as well as the eight top-selling SHRM-published books, to hone in on what is most critical and top-of-mind for HR professionals.

Two areas that stood out in this year’s "Great 8" list included labor law posters and HR competencies. The SHRMStore added all 50 states’ labor law posters in 2015, and customers responded with a hearty thumbs-up. But it was items that address the eight behavioral competencies in the SHRM Competency Model that stole the spotlight. For example, books specific to the Leadership & Navigation competency generated more interest than in past years. This indicates that a growing number of HR practitioners are advancing their abilities to direct and contribute to initiatives and processes within their organizations.
Other topics of significant interest to SHRMStore customers include:
  • State and federal employment labor law compliance.
  • FMLA management.
  • Emotional intelligence.
  • Harassment training.
  • Workplace investigations.
  • Employee retention.
Many of the items that made the Great 8 list are approved for recertification credit, including for
SHRM Certification.

And now, without further ado, is the full list:
