The Principal Financial Group has added new ways to identify dental health risks before they become more serious. In just minutes, individuals can visit the Principal dental coverage web site, click on Principal Dental Edge and complete a dental risk assessment. The assessments will show if participants are at risk for dental problems such as tooth decay or gingivitis--two of the most common dental conditions. Short quizzes can determine whether an individual is susceptible to a number of conditions including cavities, tooth decay, periodontal disease and oral cancer. The results of the assessments also provide specific information on ways to improve dental health.

Benefits Administration

Ameritas Group has announced a new line of dental plans called Sensible Choice. The new plans feature benefits that are easy for members to understand and use. Reimbursements are based on the dollar amount of expenses instead of benefit types or procedure categories. The plans also feature flexible cost management for employers and benefit plan sponsors. Employers can choose whether to include a specific set of tools--professional consultant claims review, alternate procedures, frequency limitations and age limits--that help keep plan costs predictable and rates stable.

Lighthouse1 has launched its OnDemand HSA Solution, a new software tool designed to offer employers and health plan sponsors a flexible health savings account administration platform. Lighthouse1 OnDemand is built directly into an organization's consumer-driven health care (CDH) administration platform. Account holders then are provided access to all CDH support services, including health savings accounts (HSAs), via a secure portal. Plan participants can enroll online and make their own election changes.

MullinTBG has introduced IDP Select, a new tool designed to help small and medium-sized companies implement deferred compensation plans for their highly compensated employees.
