Helping Workers Kick the Habit - Tobacco Isn't Just for Smokers

HR Magazine, September 2007​Many experts and advocates in the tobacco-cessation field note that efforts to persuade people to quit using tobacco should reach more than smokers. Nicotine use, they note, extends to all forms of tobacco, from cigarettes, cigars and pipes to smokeless tobacco, or "snuff."

"The seriousness of 'dip and chew'-it's huge," says Karen Roberts, a senior vice president in Aon Consulting's Health and Benefits Practice in Las Vegas.

"You would be surprised how many professional men [besides athletes] use smokeless tobacco and how big a problem it is with the teenage population."
