Smart Clock has released two models of its time and attendance terminals. One model features a reader for magnetic-stripe work badges. The process is similar to how credit cards hold data. When swiped, the magnetic stripe is read and the data is sent to the terminal. The other model features a fingerprint and biometric reader. This system requires a validated fingerprint before employees can clock in. The system can store up to eight fingerprint templates per employee, helping to eliminate false-reading problems common with other biometric time clocks.
