Books, accessories and more available for purchase
At the SHRMStore, attendees can find more than 250 titles and products—books, training DVDs, online compliance products, labor law posters and software—of interest to HR professionals at all career levels.
Subjects covered include state and federal legal compliance, compensation and benefits, business leadership, employee development, social media, and recruiting and staffing. A special section of the store is dedicated to books published or co-published by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
Please Sue Me (Hunter Lott, 2013) andThe Big Book of HR (Career Press, 2012) are particularly popular “because they speak to two big frustrations our members have: staying in compliance with the law and staying on top of the myriad demands of HR management,” said Vincent Caldwell, SHRMStore coordinator.
Also popular are the SHRMStore’s HR accessories, which include items with the SHRM logo as well as items from the popular “I Love HR” series. Merchandise ranges from coffee mugs, water bottles, keychains, clothing and desk accessories, to designer bags, sweatshirts, Parker pens, business card holders and lanyards in several colors. Plus, now the SHRMStore has items featuring the logos for the new SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP certifications.
“Interestingly, the ‘I Love HR’ line came out of our members and HR professionals asking for it,” Caldwell said. “They wanted something that said ‘I Love HR’ on it. I think HR professionals wanted this line because their job is critical to the success of the organization and yet is often thankless. I think this line inspires them. Plus, many CHROs use this line to send a message, in a fun way, to the C-suite that HR is core to the business moving forward.”
New this year to the store are labor law posters. The state and federal sets come with an annual update service so that posters are kept current and in compliance with ever-changing employment law.
Also available are more than 50 books that are approved for recertification credit for both SHRM Certification and the HR Certification Institute certifications. All of these are aligned to the SHRM competencies as are most titles in the SHRMStore.
