Don’t feel like rolling out of bed for those early-bird sessions at the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) 2015 Annual Conference & Exposition?
No worries. With Conference On Demand, you can watch them online at your convenience.
By making hundreds of presentations available online, the Conference On Demand service gives conference attendees access to many concurrent sessions after the conference is over.
“The availability of Annual Conference On Demand can be a great help in planning your conference activities,” said Margaret Clark, SHRM-SCP, manager of SHRM’s on demand and virtual programs. “If you are having trouble selecting among sessions that occur in the same time slot, just check the conference program in the onsite guide or the conference app to see which sessions are being recorded.
“The same goes for sessions that become crowded,” Clark said. “Some, but not all, concurrent sessions in high demand will be streamed into overflow rooms. If there is no overflow room for the session you would like to attend, there’s a good chance that the session will be available in the On Demand product.”
Clark said knowing the sessions will be available later can give attendees “peace of mind. If you oversleep, get caught up in a great conversation with a fellow attendee or simply need a break, you never have to worry about missing out on sessions that are important to you—or to your boss.”
More good news: The price has gone down this year.
“We have dramatically reduced the price of Annual Conference On Demand to $149 for six months’ access to the sessions in hopes of making it accessible to many more conference attendees,” Clark said. “Consider how much you pay per month for your streaming media entertainment. For about $25 a month, On Demand provides you with access to about 250 hours of professional educational content. Maybe not quite as exciting as ‘Game of Thrones,’ but it will probably do you more good in the long run.”
Approximately 200 sessions from the conference will be online.
With Conference On Demand, users can earn up to 30 SHRM self-paced professional development credits, she said. This means that if users view 30 hours of unique sessions via On Demand (unique meaning that they did not attend the same sessions at the live conference), they can claim 30 self-paced professional development credits using the Annual Conference On Demand program ID.
Clark added that individuals who become certified by exam by the time they use the On Demand product also will be eligible to claim the On Demand credits.
In addition to recordings of concurrent sessions with audio and detailed, downloadable PowerPoint presentations, the On Demand package includes videos of select mega sessions—all with unlimited online access, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
