When Work Works Community Partner the Washington State HR Council, in partnership with SHRM Puget Sound Chapters, hosted a When Work Works Award recognition event at SHRM's first Talent Symposium on July 15. Hank Jackson, SHRM President and CEO, presented the awards to six Seattle area winning organizations that are using workflex as part of an effective workplace strategy.
The organizations honored at the event included:
Bader Martin—To offset the seasonal peak workload schedule, the firm officially closes the office on Fridays from mid-May to mid-August, and employees have the option to work compressed schedules in the summer.
BDO USA—Offers flexible hours, telecommuting, remote work, seasonal schedules, reduced schedules, compressed work weeks and more. BDO leaders view flexibility as a lever for managing business cycles in order to creatively structure teams and work days, rethink engagement planning staffing, and more accurately align resources with business demands to increase profitability.
DomainTools—Offers flex time and place, unlimited PTO and daily breakfast and lunch for employees. The company also offers an annual ski trip for employees and their families to Whistler, BC, to help employees relax and recharge.
G2 Web Services—Empowers employees to manage their own workloads. Robust worklex offerings and high employee satisfaction have allowed the company to compete successfully with large market competitors such as Amazon, Microsoft and Google.
Tri-Digital—Offers unlimited PTO to empower employees to better control life on and off the job. The company builds collaborative, cross-functional teams that can support one another to achieve business goals and to help promote sustainable work-life fit for all employees.
