SHRM and CHCI Team Up to Announce Report on Changing Demographics in the Workplace

Last week, SHRM and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) released a report, The Changing U.S. Workforce: The Growing Hispanic Demographic and the Workplace, to coincide with Hispanic Heritage Month and CHCI's Annual Public Policy Conference.

SHRM Senior Vice President of Membership and External Affairs J. Robert "Bob" Carr (far right), J.D., SHRM-SCP, unveiled the report with CHCI CEO Domenika Lynch (center right), citing the vital role HR plays in leveraging the contributions of the Hispanic demographic in the workplace. Additionally, SHRM Senior Vice President of Knowledge Development Alexander Alonso, Ph.D. (far left), SHRM-SCP, served on the closing general session panel at CHCI's conference, discussing the report's findings as well as SHRM's work related to research on workforce trends.

In brief, the joint research report:

    • Examines the latest research and high-level insights from experts on Hispanic demographics.
    • Presents effective practices for business and higher education to ensure that the new generation of workers will enter the U.S. labor market with marketable skills and hands-on experiences that match the needs of the economy.
    • Provides a road map for stakeholders as they navigate the shifting demographics of the U.S. labor market.
