2014 Economic Conditions: Recruiting and Skills Gaps

This presentation is part 2 of 3 in a series of SHRM survey findings about the state of jobs and skills in the U.S. Data are presented by industry, and comparisons are made by organization staff size and sector when significant differences were found.

One out of two (50%) organizations reported difficulty recruiting for full-time regular positions over the past year. One-half of those organizations (50%) cited lack of work experience, lack of the right technical skills, or competition from other employers as a primary reason for difficulty in hiring qualified candidates.
