The purpose of this research is to better understand changing skill and education requirements. This research is part of SHRM’s ongoing efforts to improve workforce readiness in the United States. The findings will help SHRM work with policy makers to improve postsecondary preparation by aligning high school standards, graduation requirements, and assessment and accountability systems with the demands of today’s careers. This national survey of nearly 4,700 HR professionals was conducted in collaboration with and commissioned by Achieve. Results are reported in the following six sections, and a link to Achieve’s report is provided below as well.
