As part of SHRM’s 2017 HR Careers Research Series, we asked 318 recruiters, HR managers, HR directors and above to rate entry-level HR staff on their performance in the 15 functional areas and eight behavioral competencies identified in the SHRM Body of Competency and Knowledge (SHRM BoCK™). Among the top functional areas rated by employers were Staffing and Performance Management, and the highest competency performance rating of entry-level HR was Ethical Practice.
