How and Why Vision Networks Differ from Other Coverage
Presenter: Dr. John Lahr, EyeMed
May 2016 (available for on-demand viewing through September 2016)
Program length: 60 minutes
Evaluating the right provider network for your employees’ vision benefits requires looking through a different lens than you do for health or dental plans. Today’s employees expect more from their vision care benefits than ever before, placing a greater emphasis on access, choice and innovation. While network size and proximity are important for all healthcare plans, employee satisfaction with vision care is driven by additional factors.
In this program, Dr. John Lahr, vice president and medical director of EyeMed, will present findings from a recent EyeMed survey of benefits decision-makers on how vision benefits are perceived by today's multi-generational workforce.
About the Presenter: Dr. John Lahr is a nationally recognized speaker, educator, and consultant on eye care topics and vision benefits. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and 2001 inductee to the National Academies of Practice. As an original member of the Clinical Practice Guidelines Committee of the American Optometric Association he developed practice standards and protocols for the optometric profession, and served as AOA’s first representative to the American Medical Association’s CPT coding committee while also serving as chair of the Eye Care Benefits Center. Lahr is a former president of the Minnesota Optometric Association and was awarded the MOA Optometrist of the Year.
