A recent study conducted by PayScale found that employees’ perceptions of how they are paid are a better predictor of their intent to stay than their actual fair pay to the market. A Compensation and Human Resources Professional with ten years of HR experience, Herner heads PayScale's Expert Services team and has helped numerous organizations across a variety of industries including non-profit, manufacturing, retail & higher education. In his role as consultant, Herner helps develop customers’ compensation philosophies and implement strategies that align with business goals. He specializes in linking performance with compensation, change management, process improvement, and developing HR policies and procedures

Rusty Lindquist is vice president of HCM strategy and intellectual property at BambooHR. In that capacity, he studies the intersection of organizational behavior, talent management and HR strategy, all within the dynamics of small to medium-sized businesses. Prior to joining the BambooHR team, Lindquist spent three years leading product innovation in the learning and development industry and 15 years running product in SAAS companies.
