A growing number of employers are asking questions about how employee health may affect a company's profitability and guidance in making the business case for health improvement. This program will explore two critical issues facing employers in managing the health and productivity of their workforce: making the business case for the value of health to senior leaders and broadening the discussion of wellness programs in the health, productivity and absence management framework. Dr. Thomas Parry, president of the independent, not-for-profit Integrated Benefits Institute (IBI), and a pioneer in the health and productivity field, will discuss how to connect investments in the health of your workforce to the goals of your business and how to communicate that value to your company's leaders. He also will address how several key chronic conditions that are often the focus of wellness programs are impacted by lost work time, performance and productivity.

About the Presenters: Thomas Parry, Ph.D., is president of the Integrated Benefits Institute (IBI) He directs IBI’s activities and stewards its research agenda. Before co-founding IBI, he served 11 years as research director at the California Workers’ Compensation Institute (CWCI). His research at the CWCI encompassed a wide variety of topics in workers’ compensation, and he was engaged in some of the earliest research and analysis on 24-hour coverage and integrated benefits. He speaks on integrated benefits and health and productivity issues at conferences and symposia in the United States and internationally.
