The SHRM Certification Team is pleased to announce the second annual "HRaiku" Contest, to honor the ingenuity of our readers during National Poetry Month, which is observed in April. The best HRaikus will be published in the April 12 issue of SHRM Certification Update. E-mail your entries to SHRMCertNews@shrm.org by March 30.
Haiku poems have a rigid structure of 17 syllables arranged in three lines. There are five syllables in the first line, seven syllables in the second line and five syllables in the third line. Haikus don't need to rhyme. Your HRaiku should address some aspect of the HR profession, SHRM and/or certification. Be serious, wistful, comical, cynical or anything in between—just be original!
