A timesaving auto-fill feature is now available on SHRM's online Certification Portal. The convenient new process enables SHRM members with SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP credentials to automatically upload the professional development credits (PDCs) they earn through national SHRM recertification activities.
Certificants who attend SHRM conferences, seminars and e-Learning courses can have their PDCs auto-populated into their recertification accounts. They will no longer have to write down, remember or enter Activity IDs for those events.
"Recertification should be about learning and growing in your profession, not about paperwork, so we're making it easier," said Brian Dickson, SHRM senior vice president of professional development and strategic partnerships. "It's no longer a hassle to enter your SHRM-provided recertification credits. Certified members can feel free to take advantage of more of the recertification opportunities their national organization offers."
Credential-holders whose SHRM certification e-mail address matches their SHRM membership e-mail address are already set up for the portal's auto-fill feature. Certificants whose e-mail addresses are different, or who are not sure if they are, are advised to go to login.shrm.org to update their information.
As for PDCs earned through chapter and state council events, Dickson says SHRM is "currently working on innovations to help streamline that process. We hope to share some exciting news in the coming weeks."
