SHRM Certification Lounge

This special dedicated space is reserved for SHRM-CPs and SHRM-SCPs. Recharge yourself (and your phone), grab a snack and some giveaways, and chat with fellow SHRM credential-holders. Recertification advisors will be on hand to answer your recertification questions and can even help you finalize your application if you're ready to do so. Location: the Connection Zone in the Las Vegas Convention Center. Hours: June 23, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.; June 24, 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; June 25, 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; June 26, 8-11 a.m.

Meet the SHRM Certification Relations staff and learn about the SHRM certification process from start to finish. Location: outside the Certification Lounge, in the Connection Zone. Hours: June 23, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.; June 24, 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; June 25, 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; June 26, 8-11 a.m.

SmartStage Presentations

Eighteen-minute "executive summary"-style briefings for busy attendees.

  • Earning Your SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP: Tips for Testing. Nancy Woolever, SHRM's director of exam development, will discuss how to choose which exam is right for you, best practices for studying, and tips and tools to put you on the path to success. Whether you're just interested in finding out about SHRM certification, planning to apply or already have an appointment to take the test, this brief session is for you. (June 23, 1:10 p.m.)
  • Tips for Making Recertification Simple. John Austin, SHRM's manager of certification relations, will explain what the recertification requirements are for SHRM credential-holders, how to earn PDCs from the widest array of activities (many of which you may already be engaged in) and when to submit your application. You worked hard to earn your SHRM designation, so make sure you don't lose it—recertify! (June 24, 1:50 p.m.)
  • Three Keys to HR Success with the SHRM Learning System. Elizabeth Moore, SHRM-SCP, vice president at Holmes Corp., will help you discover tools and resources to expand your knowledge, skills and proficiencies as you prepare for the SHRM certification exam. Especially valuable for SHRM-CPs looking to earn the SHRM-SCP. (June 24, 3:40 p.m.)

  • Earn Your SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP: Tips for Testing, presented by Nancy Woolever, SHRM's director of exam development. Learn about the SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP credentials and get helpful hints for taking the exam. (June 24, 1:30 p.m.)
  • Maintaining Your SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP: Tips for Recertifying with Purpose, presented by Pat Byrd, SHRM's director of certification relations. Understand the recertification process for your SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP credential and find out how to maximize the opportunities and resources available to you. (June 25, 3:30 p.m.)

Seminar

SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP Certification Preparation, a two-day seminar presented by a qualified, SHRM-certified HR instructor. Focus your study efforts for either exam with this intensive, comprehensive review of the SHRM Body of Competency and Knowledge. Additional fee and registration required. Books Approved for PDCs

Earn recertification credits by reading approved books and completing quizzes afterward. Stop by the SHRMStore in the Connection Zone for information.

Conference Attendance PDCs

Attend #SHRM19 to earn 27.25 PDCs toward your SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP recertification. Your credits auto-populate in your certification portal, so you can focus more on learning and less on paperwork.
