Dubai Government HR Branch Chooses SHRM Credentials and Training

By Robert Garcia, MBA, SHRM-SCP May 2, 2016

More HR professionals and their employers around the world in both the public and private sectors are seeking SHRM certification, having recognized its value and global applicability.

The United Arab Emirates' business hub, the Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR), has recently contracted with SHRM Middle East/North Africa (SHRM MENA) to provide SHRM training for more than 65 HR professionals in preparation for the SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP exams. Brad Boyson, SHRM MENA executive director, will serve as the lead trainer.

The trainees work in the HR departments of several major Dubai government entities. Classes will be held at a location close to the DGHR's head office. DGHR aims to lead strategically by aligning HR programs, competencies and initiatives with HR capital to implement the Dubai Strategic Plan 2021.

The SHRM MENA program will involve groups of 22 participants seeking SHRM certification. One group will prepare for the spring 2016 exam window and two groups will prepare for the winter 2016 exam window.
