Recertification efficiencies are built into the new SHRM eLearning Library, allowing individuals to obtain a significant amount of Professional Development Credits (PDCs) or all of their HRCI credits.
The Library features 24/7 access to hundreds of online educational courses and webcasts. SHRM-certified subscribers to the Library can earn up to 30 PDCs toward the requirements for maintaining their SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP credential. Subscribers with a HR Certification Institute credential can earn up to 60 recertification credits when they take the quizzes associated with each course.
The comprehensive educational programming in the SHRM eLearning Library consists of live recordings of concurrent sessions from SHRM conferences. Its 500-plus courses are mapped to the SHRM competencies, and explore a wide variety of topics to support certification holders’ self-paced learning and professional development. Webcasts and new courses will be continuously added throughout the year to the unlimited-access, all-inclusive annual subscription.
The Library is but one product within SHRM's eLearning portfolio. Online training courses available for separate purchase include in-depth explorations of ethics and compliance, benefits (in partnership with the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans), and J-1 visas (from the Council for Global Immigration, a SHRM affiliate).
Ease of accessibility to courses preapproved for PDCs is a major benefit of a SHRM eLearning Library subscription, and highly relevant to the mobile, multitasking lifestyle of today's credentialed HR professional. Making the recertification process more efficient is a shortcut only in terms of time saved—the high quality of the education provided is maintained.
