The International Association of Employment Web Sites (IAEWS) has changed its name to TAtech: The Association for Talent Acquisition Solutions, expanding beyond its original mission of serving a job board constituency to now also serve tech-based recruiting stakeholders.
Executive Director and Founder Peter Weddle announced the name change and modified direction Oct. 17, 2015, at the group’s fall conference in Las Vegas.
Weddle said that talent acquisition products and services have become both more diverse and interdependent since the IAEWS formed in 2007.
“The individuals and organizations in the talent acquisition solutions industry deserve a trade association positioned to provide them with the insights, resources and connections they need to succeed in today’s and tomorrow’s marketplace,” Weddle said.
The industry has grown far beyond job boards. “While job boards, association career centers, digital classifieds and aggregators continue to play a central role in recruitment success, employers today are looking for integrated, multifaceted solutions that include applicant tracking systems, mobile apps, recruitment advertising agencies, cloud-based products, ad-buying exchanges, social media sites, talent networks, interviewing services, candidate screening and assessment services, and more,” he said.
Over the next several months, TAtech will launch a new website and reshape its programs and activities for its expanded membership.
Weddle said that TAtech will continue to give its members access to education, networking, alliances and research, and will soon expand to new areas, including advocacy and standards.
The IAEWS Spring Congress—to be renamed the TATECH Industry Congress—will remain an industry-focused event, while its fall conference will be transformed into the TATECH Expo, a customer-focused forum on technology-based talent acquisition innovations and best practices, and featuring the industry’s vendors and their products and services. The association also intends to launch TATECH EU in 2016 to begin an annual conference series in the European market.
