An organization needs to leverage people managers to attract, develop and engage the workforce. The culture and organizational values are lived through people who lead the individual contributors. For the organization, people managers define a very large part of the employee experience. People managers become the talent pool from which the future leaders of the business are drawn.

Success in the workplace means prioritizing the management of people, guiding employees’ development and cultivating a strong sense of collective purpose at work. The most successful organizations nurture and maintain a strong culture, while the worst find themselves hindered by toxicity in the workplace.

The organizations’ business models, processes and practices, are shaped by the environment coupled with technological advancements along with the socio-economic-political shifts. The best businesses are successful because they are equally effective while dealing with customers online as they were when they could meet the customers in the office. The people managers have to be as effective in managing the remote teams as well as when physically co-located with them. The two scenarios call for different strategies for leading and managing people effectively. This is a challenge that even experienced people managers face today as they need to figure out how to run the teams when people are working from their home and hometowns. Both groups face a common challenge - how to become an Effective Manager in the analog as well as the digital world of work.

  • Getting a first-hand immersive experience of the tools that can be used to build engagement in a Hybrid workplace

About the Speaker:

Nida is a passionate and entrepreneurial HR Professional with over a decade of experience across diverse areas of the human capital lifecycle. Prior to her current stint with SHRM India, she was working independently and associated with several firms like Great Place to Work Research and Consultancy, School of Inspired Leadership and Institution Builders. She has also been previously employed as a Project Leader with Right Management India. Nida has worked on projects involving both high level strategy and ground level execution. Combination of subject matter expertise with operational understanding and effective stakeholder management has always ensured business impact of HR interventions. Her domain expertise lies in the areas of Competency Management, Talent Assessment, Leader Development, Employee Engagement and Performance Management. In her work in the space of Leader Development, she has worked on content design, development and delivery of more than 200 learning programs across Automotive Manufacturing, FMCG, Construction, IT, BFSI, Telecom, Energy, Government and Pharmaceutical sectors for a host of behavioural and HR functional topics. She holds a degree in Science from Lucknow University and is an MBA from SIBM (Gold Medalist).
