DEI & Content Manager, Onbe

My story begins with my parents, who immigrated from Pakistan with big dreams and limited resources. As a first-generation Pakistani American, I grew up straddling two cultures—learning to honor my roots while finding my voice in spaces where people who looked like me were often underrepresented. Their journey laid the foundation for mine, and it’s what drives my commitment to building workplaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and empowered.

Today, I’m a proud mom to a spirited three-year-old who reminds me every day why this work matters. Motherhood has deepened my empathy and sharpened my purpose—it’s not just about the work I do now, but the legacy I want to help shape for the next generation. That sense of purpose fuels my work as a DEI champion and event planner, where I create meaningful moments and inclusive experiences that bring people together, spark honest conversations, and move organizations forward.

In every role I’ve held, I’ve centered belonging—whether it’s through building impactful programs, elevating underrepresented voices, or creating spaces where people can show up as their full selves. With a strong foundation in both strategy and lived experience, I bring a thoughtful, people-first approach to every initiative I lead.

Being selected for the SHRM Foundation’s HR Tomorrow Leadership Program is more than an honor—it’s a full-circle moment. It represents the kind of opportunity my parents dreamed of when they came to this country, and I’m excited to carry their legacy forward by growing as a leader and contributing to a more inclusive future for the HR profession.
