Maria Landivar is a People Services Generalist at Plymouth Place, where she supports over 450 employees across Plymouth Place and Plymouth Place Management Services. In her role, she leads various human resources initiatives, including recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, retention strategies, and system implementation. Her unique background in healthcare and her bilingual fluency allows her to approach HR with a compassionate yet strategic perspective, ensuring that employees feel valued and supported.
Maria’s career journey began in Bolivia, where she earned her medical degree from the Universidad Católica Boliviana San Pablo and worked as a general physician in both rural and urban settings. In 2018, she moved to the United States to expand her opportunities. After initially volunteering at Plymouth Place and refining her English skills, she transitioned into a full-time position as a concierge, later being promoted to People Services Coordinator in 2021, where her HR journey officially began. Today, Maria continues to grow professionally in her current role as People Services Generalist, where she leads key HR initiatives and plays an integral role in fostering a positive workplace culture.
Maria has been recognized for her outstanding contributions to both her organization and community. She received the 2022 Plymouth Place Pillar’s of Excellence Award, acknowledging her exceptional service and dedication to the organization’s mission. In 2024, she was honored with the West Suburban Chamber of Commerce and Industry's "Thirty Under Forty" Award, which highlights young leaders making a significant impact in their industries.
Maria views receiving the SHRM HR Tomorrow Leadership Award as both a significant personal milestone and an inspiration to continue advancing in her HR career. She is currently working toward obtaining her SHRM-CP certification and aspires to further elevate her contributions to human resources, empowering both individuals and organizations to achieve their goals.
