Do I need to be a SHRM member to apply?
No. Membership is not required, but members receive lower pricing. If your member price does not appear during application, contact support before completing purchase.
Is exam prep included with the application?
No. Exam applications, prep products, and practice products are purchased separately so candidates can choose the support level they need.
What happens after my application is approved?
You will receive an "Authorization to Test" email. Use it to schedule your exam appointment with Prometric during the testing window you selected.
Can my organization purchase for a team?
Yes. Purchases for two or more people use the SHRM Business purchase path. Groups of five or more may qualify for volume options, and teams can combine SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, prep, and practice support.
Can I add practice before exam day?

Is the exam difficult?
Yes. SHRM Certification exams are rigorous and designed to measure applied HR judgment. Taking the exam that best aligns with your knowledge and experience is the strongest predictor of exam success. Global exam pass rates: SHRM-CP 69%; SHRM-SCP 52%.
How do I determine if I am eligible for the SHRM certification exam?
