Urge Congress to Reauthorize WIOA

Originally signed into law in 2014, the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) remains a cornerstone of the U.S. workforce development system — expanding access to skills training, supporting career growth, and connecting workers with in-demand jobs.

As Congress considers reauthorization, WIOA must be updated to reflect today’s labor market realities. SHRM is calling on HR professionals and advocates to help shape a modernized WIOA that streamlines training access, supports a diverse range of workers and employers, and promotes skills-based hiring.
