SHRM's 2026 Forecast: What EN Members Say Will Transform HR
SHRM recently released a list of seven HR trends. We spoke to SHRM Executive Network Members to see what resonated and how leaders plan to approach these topics in the year ahead, from artificial intelligence hype to polyworking and AI coaching.
In this episode of People + Strategy, we sit down with Drew Holler, former senior vice president of associate experience at Walmart, where he worked for 20 years in operations and supply chain. He’s now the CHRO at the homebuilder Lennar. Holler explains how a focus on process, technology, and first-principles helped Lennar centralize HR, streamline routine work, and redirect teams toward higher-value, “inspired” work.
The most effective C-suites are powered by leaders who collaborate seamlessly across boundaries. The Fall 2025 edition of the People + Strategy journal highlights the strategies CHROs use today to effectively strengthen connections with their CEO, CFO, CIO, and boards to drive influence, shape strategy, and transform the workplace.
HR executives are closing out 2025 with a more cautious view of the employment landscape. Despite the growing adoption of artificial intelligence and its promised efficiency gains, expectations for productivity improvements remain modest. As the labor market cools and economic pressures intensify, executives are preparing for a difficult start to 2026 marked by uncertainty.
