White House Requests Public Feedback on AI Strategy
The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) has launched a request for information, inviting a wide range of stakeholders — including industry leaders, academic institutions, and state and local governments — to share their perspectives. Public comments will be accepted through March 15 via the Federal Register.
The feedback will guide the development of an AI Action Plan aimed at advancing U.S. innovation and leadership in the field. OSTP emphasized the significance of public participation in shaping AI policy, stating, “Hearing directly from experts and stakeholders allows us to develop a plan that supports innovation, addresses challenges, and keeps the U.S. at the forefront of AI advancements.”. OSTP will use the feedback to create a plan that outlines the priorities for policy on for AI use. The goal is to foster responsible AI development while ensuring the U.S. remains competitive in this rapidly evolving space. SHRM will be submitting a public comment.
