Job Summary:
The Material Handling Engineer will design and develop automated manufacturing and material handling systems to assist with movement and conveyance of specified material.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with clients, engineers, and other staff to understand the specified material and the conveyance, transport, or other handling needs.
- Evaluates current material handling process, considering innovations in material and methods.
- Recommends improvements to ensure most efficient and cost-effective handling and packaging procedures.
- Drafts sketches, samples, and written analysis of proposed designs or improvements to handling system, packaging, and other related elements.
- Estimates material needs, costs, and timelines for proposed projects.
- Facilitates installation, testing, and debugging phases of projects.
- Coordinates work with and deliveries from outside vendors.
- Drafts, or assists with drafting of, relevant technical documentation, user manuals, and lists.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Thorough understanding of math and physics.

- Ability to collaborate and lead team to meet a common goal.
- Ability to increase the efficiency of machinery and systems.
- Extremely proficient with related software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience in engineering internship highly preferred.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license highly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
