Job Summary:
The Network Control Operator will provide technical support for the organizations voice and data networks.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintains the organizations voice and data networks, troubleshooting and analyzing hardware, software, and peripheral issues.
- Conducts diagnostics to identify and/or prevent problems and errors.
- Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in telecommunications and data networking, hardware, and technology.
- Maintains documentation and logs of technical issues, troubleshooting activities, and resolutions.
- Develops and maintains documentation for equipment installations, configurations, and other user needs.
- Trains staff and end users on proper function and use of equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Basic understanding of network control principles, theories, concepts, and technologies.
- Thorough understanding of networking protocols, LAN networking, and WAN networking.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- Associates degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience, required.
- At least three years of experience in network maintenance and user technical support preferred.
- A+, Network+, and/or similar certifications highly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
