Senior Bank Examiner




Job Summary:

The Senior Bank Examiner will lead a team of bank examiners, directing and participating in the process of examining and inspecting various aspects of the bank to determine the banks financial condition and to evaluate compliance with consumer protection laws and regulations, best lending practices, and securities regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Directs examination activities that may include review of financial practices, assessment of cash flow, and tax analysis; participates in analysis for complex, specialized, and error-prone areas.
  • Reviews findings from subordinate bank examiners, which may include verification of capital assets and liabilities.
  • Handles complex and specialized inquiries from bank staff that arise during the examination process.
  • Based on information provided by the examining team, evaluates condition and processes of the financial institution for compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Presents final report and evaluation to financial institution staff; explains areas of noncompliance and recommends changes to improve operations, procedures, or financial reports.
  • Communicates with bank regulators concerning issues discovered and inquiries raised during an examination.
  • Facilitates implementation of recommended changes.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and regulatory changes in banking.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in related field required, Masters degree preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience as a bank examiner or in a related role.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Extensive travel may be required.
