Job Summary:
The Circulation Manager will oversee the operation of the magazine/newspaper circulation department and supervise sales and distribution.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Interviews, hires, and trains new circulation staff.
- Conducts performance evaluations for circulation staff and other reports.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with promotions manager to develop effective marketing campaigns.
- Conducts long-range planning, which may include focus on targeted market segments.
- Oversees distribution channels to ensure efficient operation and accurate recordkeeping.
- Prepares annual budget, accounting for marketing campaign expenses and potential revenue.
- Ensures accurate maintenance of subscriber records to facilitate prompt delivery.
- Maintains subscriber lists for use in sales promotions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
- Ability to analyze marketing data to develop short-term and long-term circulation plans.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field required; MBA preferred.
- At least five years of experience in Marketing, with at least three years in the publishing field.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
