Job Summary:
The Employee Relations Coordinator, Nursing, will oversee nurse recruitment, employee advocacy, orientation, and related programs.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Interviews and assists in hiring qualified applicants for nursing positions.
- Recommends qualified candidates for specific positions.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Coordinates the orientation and onboarding process for new nurses and nursing staff.
- Investigates and pursues resolution of interpersonal conflicts and similar workplace problems.
- Conducts exit interviews to identify ways to improve staff retention; prepares summary of findings for administration or other appropriate staff.
- Develops and maintains relationships with nursing schools, associations, and hospital recruiters to identify and recruit new staff.
- Collaborates with Public Relations or other appropriate departments to develop promotional materials to aid in recruiting.
- Attends nursing-oriented job fairs.
- Implements Equal Employment Opportunity and affirmative action programs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Professional, pleasant demeanor in a variety of settings with current, new, and potential employees.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Affiliation with nursing educational programs and organizations.
- Ability to keep information confidential.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Nursing or related field required.
- Valid nursing licensure required.
- At least five years of relevant experience including some responsibility for supervisory duties.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
