Job Summary:
The Vice President of Retail Lending will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee activities in the Retail Lending department, ensuring the development and implementation of effective policies for direct loan products and management of the organizations portfolio.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains management-level staff in the lending department.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Establishes and implements the strategic vision and business goals of the lending division.
- Collaborates with other executive leadership team members to develop and execute a retail business plan and recommended credit policies for direct loan products while supplying expertise and guidance on consumer lending.
- Identifies, recommends, and implements new policies, processes, and systems required to achieve the organizations goals and business plan.
- Conducts, requests, or facilitates surveys and other data collection to measure customer satisfaction and other quality and performance metrics.
- Monitors and maintains the asset quality of the consumer loan portfolio; drafts and implements standards for underwriting, loan monitoring, and credit authorizations.
- Assumes accountability for monitoring and assuring fulfillment of consumer loan objectives, including loan originations, outstanding or delinquent accounts, charge-offs, fee income, interest income, and return on assets.
- Ensures departmental compliance with laws, regulations, standards, and best practices including completion and maintenance of documentation and records.
- Oversees all loan accounting and servicing.
- Represents retail lending division to external vendors.
- Establishes and administers the departments budget.
- Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in retail lending.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:

- Thorough and detailed understanding of lending and collection/bankruptcy regulations, lien laws and loan documentation.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Business or related field required; advanced work at the masters level in banking is preferred.
- Seven to ten years of consumer lending and banking management experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to travel to facilities to perform visual inspections for current and prospective customers.
