SHRM AI+HI Project 2026 Welcomes Adam Cheyer and Vishal Sharma to Main Stage Panel on Human-Centric Innovation
Attendees will gain practical strategies for amplifying human capabilities while integrating AI tools into their leadership and operational approaches.
ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Today, SHRM, the trusted authority on all things work, workers, and the workplace, announced Adam Cheyer, inventor and co-founder of Siri, and Vishal Sharma, Vice President of Amazon Alexa's Artificial Intelligence Information organization, will take the Main Stage for a panel discussion at SHRM AI+HI Project 2026. The event will take place in San Francisco March 9-10.
The session, The Human Multiplier: Why AI Needs You, will examine how human intelligence amplifies artificial intelligence capabilities in organizational settings. Adam Cheyer and Vishal Sharma will join Nichol Bradford, Executive-in-Residence on AI+HI, for the panel discussion to explore how human creativity and judgment serve as essential multipliers in the era of AI – challenging the notion that technology alone drives organizational success.
“At SHRM, we recognize technology as a powerful tool, but the real value comes from combining AI with the expertise and judgment of our people,” said Alex Alonso, Ph.D., SHRM-SCP, Chief Knowledge Office at SHRM. “Leaders like Adam Cheyer and Vishal Sharma bring actionable insights that help organizations integrate AI thoughtfully – always keeping people at the center of decision-making. We are excited to provide a platform where practical strategies and responsible innovation converge.”
Adam Cheyer brings extensive experience as a pioneer in AI and computer human interfaces, having co-founded five successful startups including Siri and Viv Labs. He previously served as Vice President of AI Experience at Airbnb following the acquisition of GamePlanner.AI and spent more than a decade at SRI International as Chief Architect of CALO/PAL, the U.S. government's largest funded AI project. Cheyer has authored more than 60 publications and holds 50 patents.
Vishal Sharma leads the team responsible for delivering insightful Alexa experiences across Amazon devices and services. Before joining Amazon, he held vice president roles at Google, where he launched Google Assistant and led YouTube Advertising, and at Microsoft, where he led AI and Research following Microsoft's acquisition of his startup, Wand Labs. Sharma regularly presents on AI's transformative potential at conferences including SXSW, Mobile World Congress Barcelona, and EmTech MIT.
The discussion will address a critical question facing organizational leaders: how can human strengths be leveraged in partnership with AI to drive innovation, ensure ethical adoption, and achieve lasting success? Attendees will gain practical strategies for amplifying human capabilities while integrating AI tools into their leadership and operational approaches.
