Job Summary:
The Television Production Specialist will coordinate and carry out pre- and post-production duties for a television program.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Identifies the camera, audio, and lighting equipment needed for the production.
- Assists with the selection and building of scenery and props.
- Oversees setup of production equipment for the studio, control room, or filming location.
- Prepares teleprompters with scripts.
- Operates cameras, video recorders, lights, microphones, and computer editing software.
- Performs routine maintenance on audio and video equipment.
- Troubleshoots problems with equipment and resolves problems when able; notifies Executive Producer of any problems that cannot be resolved.
- Maintains and updates production records.
- During post-production, edits footage, dubs soundtrack, and prepares final version of the program.
- Creates promotional clips using approved footage.
- Assists new employees or interns with production duties.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with camera and production equipment.
- Proficient with editing and production software.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- Associates degree in Television Production or related field required. Bachelors degree preferred.
- Two years of experience in the television industry preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be physically able to carry production equipment.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds at a time.
