SHRM Hosts Webinar on Reconciliation Bill’s Workplace Implications
SHRM Government Affairs hosted a webinar July 22 on the workplace policy implications of the congressional reconciliation bill, also known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which President Donald Trump signed on July 4.
The webinar was moderated by Emily M. Dickens, J.D., SHRM chief of staff, head of Government Affairs, and corporate secretary, and featured panelists Mark Prater of PwC, Jason Kanter of Kanter Strategies, and Karin Johns of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities. The discussion centered on how the bill’s key provisions will affect the way businesses operate, support employees, and plan for future talent growth. Of particular focus were the bill’s impact on payroll issues and on SHRM Government Affairs policy priorities, including enhancements to paid-leave tax credits and employer-provided student loan assistance.
