Organizational resilience—the ability to achieve positive outcomes despite being faced with adverse challenges—is considered a must-have for organizations to survive and even flourish when faced with adversity. A research report by Gap International and the Society for Human Resource Management identified four categories of resiliency based on organizational performance and employee well-being factors during the COVID-19 pandemic: a) Thriver (doing better now than pre-pandemic), b) Persister (no change pre-pandemic to now), c) Survivor (“bounced back” to pre-pandemic states after some decline) and d) Decliner (in a worse state than pre-pandemic).
